The Charlotte Radio Control Society is a club of remote-control aircraft enthusiasts who build and fly model aircraft. Our club is sanctioned by the AMA (Academy of Model Aeronautics), #1297, and follow all rules and regulations set forth by the AMA. The AMA ensures that strict nationally recognized guidelines are used by member clubs to preserve the attraction, design, training, enjoyment and safety for all.
Our Club has 95 members currently and expanding every day. Our membership consists of elementary school children to retired folks. We have two primary runways, one fabric and one grass, along with two crosswind runways. Our primary fabric runway is 300’ by 45’, with attached taxiway, and our primary grass runway is 800′ by 55′. both of these runways parallel to each other in an east-west direction. Our members fly all types of aircraft ranging from drones to gliders to helicopters, including glow powered, gas powered and electric powered propeller airplanes. Club meetings are held at the airfield on the first Saturday of each month at 10 am.
Our flying filed is nestled at the rear of the City of Punta Gorda’s Water works Plant with an unobstructed airspace for enjoyable and safe flights.
